Converting 12V and 24V to 5V for digital input

With my application the digital input lines can be either 24V, 12V, or 5V. I'm trying to figure out the best way to lower the 24V and 12V signals down to 5V for the daq to read. The most common method I've seen suggest is using voltage dividers, but that doesn't really work with different voltage levels. I've also seen mentioned using an optocoupler, but they don't seem to work great with signals get into the MHz range, and add an amount of error as well. Is the best option just going to be to create to voltage divider circuits, and using a relay to switch between them when the input is 24 or 12V?
