Elektronic control of a actuation system

Dear community,

I am currently working on a student project where I need to pass a signal to the device DT9836-12-2-BNC to control the actuation of a valve system. The valves can be either closed or open (0 or1). The current program calculates a bit pattern, which opens and closes the valves periodically. The channels (Kanal), which are the different valves, the frequency (Zeitfrequenz), the duty cycle and the phase displacement between the channels can be chosen. Then the program calculates a bit pattern, which is passed to the Datatransition device, and therefore the valves are operated.

Now I want to create a non-periodic, arbitrary square trigger signal of any chosen length. For example a 10 second long signal that opens the valve from 1-2s closes it from 2-5s, opens it again from 5-8s and closes it from 8-10s and after 10s the task is stopped.

I have been trying a lot until now and I have been looking through the examples and discussions for quite a time but I still couldn’t come up with an answer, therefore I would be really thankful for any help.

Thank you!
