I will be using a PXIe-8240 dual-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet peripheral module.
The PXIe-8240 User Manual has a NOTE that states "Note For optimum performance, the chassis must have at minimum a Gen3 x8 peripheral slot (for example, the PXIe-1085)."
The PXIe-8240 Specification manual states "Gen3 x8 PCI Express connection (maximum throughput is achievable with PXI Express Gen3 x8)."
We have a PXIe-1085 chassis with a PXIe-8370 (MXI express Gen 3) but it is being used on another project.
We have a PXIe-1084 chassis with a PXIe-8381 (MXI express Gen 2 x8) that is not being used.
Will the PXIe-8240 ethernet module work with a PXIe-1084 chassis with a PXIe-8381 (MXI express Gen 2 x8)?
Will the PXIe-1084 chassis with a PXIe-8381 (MXI express Gen 2 x8) work with a lower speed (minimum throughput) of the PXIe-8240?
I don't need to run at optimum performance or maximum throughput.
I want to know if the PXIe-8240 will work with a slower chassis with (MXI express Gen 2 x8) at slower throughput.
Thank you
