HI All,

I developed simple buffered loopback test DIO test vi using NI PCI 6536, VI is working fine without issues.but, Output data often is not same as input data.

though, same VI is working fine with PCI DIO 32HS and i am able to see expected output.

I am using Port 0& 2 for loopback Test, On board clock is the source of the timing synchronization.

Attached is the Vi which i had created using labview Version 2011.

Please give me suggestions/solutions as soon as possible. your help is highly appericiated.

Thanks

NI-NAX Software Rewiring

Hi,

I recently came in posession of a newer DAQ the USB-6361 with the BNC-2111 terminal box attachment.  Both are enclosed cases which do not allow for the wiring of certain channels together.  I am under the impression that it is possible to "rewire" through software using NIMAX.  I just can't find any evidence that this is actually possible.  I really need to wire P0.7 and P1.7 together for triggering purposes.  Could I get some help on this?

Thanks in advance,

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Acquire LVDS data with 6562

dear sir

We have a testchip with LVDS interface and lvds clock rate is 200M hz,

We generate lvds data ,and clock with double data rate mode, so we can output lvds pattern up to 200mHZ

BUT, there are problems, when we try to receive lvds data & clk.

labview display that clock & data is unstable, but, they are ok with scope probing at 200M hz

we have some question about lvds clock configration at 200mhz , do we need to use port " strobe" ??  or on board clk is ok ?

and we have a problem when we use "strobe" as clock input, error message as follows

"nihsdio initiate.vi error driver status hardware clocking error occurr "

what shuuld i do???

thanks

synchronizing several PCIe-6535B

Hi

I need to synchronize all DOs in four of the PCIe-6535B. They are all connected with the RTSI cable, operating at 5MHz sample rate.

All 128 lines need to start outputing the data when a single PFI trigger is received.

What would be the preferable way of synchronizing these four devices? The NI examples show master/slave concept, but is there any better way? I would like to see all of the four devices as one array of 128 channels.

Can I combine all of the lines into a single task and write the data to all of them at once?

thank you

Can NI 9474 be used to control injectors and 4-pin fans?

$

Hello,

I am trying to control 3 banks of four 4-wire, pwm fans, as well as 3 fuel injectors. I want to use pwm to control both the fuel injectors and the fans.

Here is the fan I am trying to use: http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/471/9SG1224P1G01-10596.pdf

My first question - can I connect the digital output of this module directly to the control wire of the fan?

I believe the NI9474 is a source, so it provides cuurrent, and the fan spec says that it acts as a sink at 1mA @ 0V.

Can I just connect the 4 control wires from a bank of fans into one digital out?

If I supply 5V to the NI9474, do I need to add a resistor or something in line to the control wire?

Would the NI9474 be capable of outputting 6 different pwm signals at different frequencies?

Thanks,

Mitchell

SCC-2345 thermocouple malfunction

I'm running an SCC-2345 box with three TC-02 modules inside. I started having an issue where, in ambient air, one channel would read ~10deg F higher than the other two. If I unplugged that thermocouple one of the other channels would jump to the high temperature. I verified each thermocouple/extension cable I was using with handheld readers. Each reading was coming from a MAX virtual channel, mapped to the box, CJC set to built in.

Not sure what's happening/what could cause a box that had been working fine to start giving me grief like this. Anyone seen something similar?

NI PCI-6010 + Digital Input + MATLAB DAQ Toolbox

I've a circuit that starts outputting digital pulses at 60 or 120 Hz once something is displayed on the PC monitor. The idea is to have a very precise estimate of the time at which something was displayed on the monitor. My experiments are coded in MATLAB and so I will need some way to get a timestamp of the signal that starts arriving at the onset of the display. The timestamp that I will get when I use the DAQ functions will be with respect to the NI card's clock, right? I've been using GetSecs right before the command to display the stimulus to get an estimate of the stimulus onset time. Now with this digital signal, I want to look at the difference between what GetSecs returns and the time at which the signal exactly arrived. Does anyone think it's doable? Cheers, Zhivago...

Hello:

I would like to use an NI 9476 to actuate 24 V relays. My setup consists of a 24 V power supply feeding into a CB-37F-HVD terminal block (into the Vsup and COM channels - I chose channel 28 for the Vsup and 19 for the COM). I have 3 relay connected to the terminal block and would like to pass control signals to them.

My impression is that the LabVIEW variable DO28 (the Vsup) needs to be always set to TRUE so that a voltage is applied to our circuit, which I can then switch to LOW when I want to actuate a relay. I have tried to create a program both through scan mode and FPGA but I still can't get a control signal through to the relay. I am using a cRIO 9024.

I am not sure if the wiring I have is wrong or the LabVIEW logic I have proposed is incorrect.

Your assistance is appreciated, thank you.

NI 9422 - Flow Meter - Reed Switch

$

Hi all,

I am curious if the NI 9422 can accept signals from a flow meter operating on a reed switch. I understand that when operating on this type of sensor (as opposed to a hall effect), no power supply is required. So does the circuit simply send the sensed pulses back to the card for a counter reading (I have the card configured in counter mode).

The spec on the device is that it is a reed switch two wire SPST N/O contact.

I am asking this because our other flow meters are operating on the hall effect sensor which use a single circuit to both power the flow meter as well as take in the sensed pulses.

I want to know if the card can handle either of these switches.

Thank you.

detecting DIO task finished

Hi

How do I know that the externally triggered DIO output of finite samples have finished the execution?

I see there is a "DAQmx Is Task Done?", but it means I need to constantly monitor the task. Is there a way to generate an event or notifier that the task has finished?

Aslo, if I use the "Start.Reftrggerable" properly and the task arms iteself after it fires, how do I know how many times the task has finished, i.e. the same question as above, how to know exactly if the task is done and not miss any of the events?

thank you

I am using HSDIO APi's to generate waveform in PXIe 6555 card. Is there any way to control data generation rate? Example : Clock rate is 800 Hz and data should be generated only at the 4th clock pulse every time (Pulse 4,8,16..) Can it be done using any kind of triggers or events available for HSDIO?

9403 Overcurrent

I'm hoping someone can tell me a little bit more about how the NI 9403 Module's Overcurrent Protection works.  I understand that there are limits on what an individual channel can source (2 mA), but my question is how is the current being provided by the the module being measured? Is it an instatneous measurement meaning that if any transient current (however short it may be) draws more than 2 mA that the device will enter it's high impedeance protection mode or is the protection circuit looking for an average output current over a particular time interval?

Thanks in advance for the help

Controlling record button (on/off) using physical toggle switch

$

I've got a program that collects data from multiple thermocouples and records their behavior over time. The program has a "RECORD' button that turns on if pushed once, and off if pushed again. I need to actuate this record button using a toggle switch (a physical one, not one inside LabView). The toggle switch is already connected and working, and I'm able to access it from LabView using DAQmx task name. My question is, what's the best way to wire it to the record button so that it actuates it when pushed, and turns it off when pushed a second time. Fairly brand new to labView here.

How to control more than 200 separate solenoid valves ?

Hi,

Sorry, there are a lot of posts about solenoid valves controlling

But , I have  more than 200 solenoid valve , may be my requirements are different from the other posts.

I am looking for an "interface card" between the computer and the solenoid valves.

Whic hardware anad software requirements for this communication.

Timing is important for solenoid valves, at the same time they should be able to turn on and off.

Any hints will be highly appreciated.
