Are there Linux Drivers available for the High-Speed Serial Board (PXIe-6592R), and if not, are they planned on being released?

Also, I could not find the LabVIEW 2016 compatible version of the PXIe-6592R device drivers for windows.

Thanks,

Hi,

I am solving very specifich aplication with cRIO and NI 9220. I need extend 15 pin D-SUB interface of cRIO by 1 meter cable. Problem is, that I can't find any information about connection of this connector. I don't know if it is necessary to connect all of these 15 pins 1 to 1.

My idea is that I use blank module to conect extending cable to cRIO chasis.

Do you have any experiences with this?

hi,

i am going to generate a control signals by NI PXI-6541 which is going to control the ADC7862(analog to digital converter).

In the IC data sheet they have to mentioned the necessary timing signals and timing waveforms

Here by i have attached timing waveform of that IC, now i want to know how to generate this signals

Could i able generate this signals by Labview signal express software? or please suggest me the method i Should use?

Upper/Lower limits of PWM Frequency

Hello together,

I am planning to control a DC-motor with the PWM-Output of a Microcontroller and I am not sure how to set the PWM-Frequency. The microcontroller update rate is 200Hz and the DC-motor time constant can be calculated from L/R. But how can I calculate the duty cycle frequency and the counts per cycle frequency (percentage resolution)?

Is it a problem, when the circuit current does not reach is steady value during a PWM-period? Because if the duty cycle frequency is very high, then for short ON-Times, the steady value will not be achieved, right?

Also the counts-per-cycle frequency specifies what the timing resolution will be (for example 1000 counts per duty cycle, means that barely 2^10 bits can be achieved), if I am right

How exactly do I calculate the upper and lower limits?

Thank you in advance

Can I measure the fan speed by NI 9401 & cRIO 9075 under Scan Interface?

Hi,

I'm currently using NI 9401 & cRIO 9075 to develop a project, that is to control the CPU fans.

Since I have to communicate with other instruments by serial port so that I have a module of NI 9870 to implement the instrument control.

I've finished the instrument control part under scan mode, and would like to add the function of reading fan speed.

Now I wonder if there is some problem when I choose the Scan Interface to deverlop the program.

I found the following tutorial that it uses the FPGA interface to impement the PWM control and frequency acquisition.

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3230/en/

So if the function of fan control is only developed under FPGA interface, I have to rewrite the instrument control part, seems to be a little complicated...

NI 9205 voltage reading error

Hi all,

I have a 9205 analog input module, and in the past was able to read two single-ended analog inputs around 2.7-2.8 V correctly, on a Ethernet RIO 9148.
However recently the module has stopped reading the correct voltages, and I am puzzled as to why this is.
I can confirm that the voltages measured at the terminals are around 2.7 V (between the AI pins and COM) with the module plugged in, but in the NI Distributed System Manager the values are showing up as around 6.7-7.0 V.

In terms of configuration:
In the LabVIEW project, all the pins are configured for Referenced Single-Ended (RSE) Measurements, in the +/- 10 V range.

Is there any way the module itself is functioning incorrectly/faulty? Nothing I can think of has changed hardware side, and as I mentioned, in the past I could read these voltages correctly.

Hello everyone,

First of all i don't know am right to start this topic under this location. My problem is: i am creating a square signal with simulate signal then i would like to count every peak in 10 seconds. I think it is pretty easy for you guys. I am so noob about labview.

PCI 6503 on a PCI-e with raiser

I am upgrading the motherboard of our test system that uses 6 PCI slots including a PCI 6503 and a PCI-GPIB card. It is difficult to get a motherboard with 6 PCI slots. Question is will the 6503 and GPIB PCI cards work on a PCI-e slots with raisers?

My first thought was to get a PCI expansion system, but it appears this may not be comaptible with NI PCI cards.

Getting clock to run longer than CS signal in NI USB-8452 SPI

Hi,

I am very new to SPI and not very versed with Labview but I when using the SPI VIs the clock pulses stop when the Chip Select goes from high to low.  The application that I am trying to interface is using the CS in an inverted manner from normal, it is low undernormal conditions but goes hi to communicate.  With the board that I am using, the data is transmitted after the CS goes back to the low state but I need the clock pulses to keep going to get the data.  Is there a way to keep the clock pulses going past the CS transition?

problems with queuing (framegrabber PCIe-1433, Basler Sprint camera)

Hi.

I am trying to get several images from my camera as soon as the trigger signal from a wave generator is read. I have a line-scan camera from Basler connected by two camera links to PCIe-1433 framegrabber. For a trigger signal I use SYNC output of the generator that also controls the movement of the scanner in my system.

I think the problem is in the way the queues are handled in the program, because instead of getting N (in my case 100) images from the camera each time the trigger is read, I get first 100 images from the queue each time the trigger is read. I tried to empty the queue before the loop, but it didn't solve the problem - just improved the situation a little bit (including not running out of memory).

Does anyone have an idea how to handle this problem? I know that my problem may be basic, but I have already read, I think, everything that is to be read, including looking at LabVIEW sample vis, but every time I get this queuing problem. I also tried sequence acquisition, but it turned out to be very slow in conjuction with trigger signal.

PS. There's a Fourier transformation in the code, because with the camera I detect the spectrum, so after FFT I get the axial profile of my object in one point. Then, with a  scanner I can get to many more such points and have a 2d image.

after certain amount of execution...Status Code: -200088

Hi,

I am using USB6009 two DAQs with visual studio 2010 (c++), operating system window 8.1

Previously, I have performed same kind of task without mutilple functions. Now I have increased no. of while loops and functions in the code. I am using digital lines port0/line0:7 for both Daq.

In the code, certain amount of time (Ex. 3 to 4 times) code executes properly. Then it throws error

DAQmx Error: Task specified is invalid or does not exist.

Status Code: -200088

For every new complication, behavior is same.

I suspect that, due to no. of while and functions are increased it is killing the tasks. One of task is getting stop and other is not. Can anybody suggest me solution for this. Please its urgent for me. My requirement is program should execute continue as it was working before.

Thanks in advance.

USB 6008 to control two solenoid valve.

$

Hi,

I want to control two 24VDC 3/2 way solenoid valve using the USB 6008 DAQcard. Now from previous posts and NI examples I have understood that I need a solid state relay than can switch with a 5mA signal from USB 6008 and then using a 24V DC power supply can energize the solenoid valve. Now what I am unable to understand due to my lack of knowledge of electronic devices as to what choices to make for these equipments i.e. solid state relay (amperage and other ratings), power supply(amperage rating choice). I apologize if there is any lack of information. I was also told that the current rating for the solenoid would also be a deciding parameter ( I am unsure of that as well). Any help is more than welcome.
