Developing HW test for PXI-6527

Hi All,

Fairly new in the LabView world so bear with me here. I have a bunch of 6527 cards laying around in the lab with bad channels in them.

That said, I'm trying to come up with a way to test every relay in those channels. I'm not sure if Self test in the NI front panel will help with that.

Any feedback or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

Digital clock output using digital I/O port

Hello, I am using NI USB-6510. It has 24-line digital I/O ports and 1 counter port.

Only counter inputs are available when configuring DAQ support in labVIEW. The output port is digital only.

I looked up the information and found that digital clock output is possible only with counter output.

Is there a way to output a digital clock using the digital I/O port of the USB-6510?

setting a digital output for certain duration

Hello

I am using PCI-6255 and I'm trying to write a python code to generate a digital output for a certain time.

I don't want to use sleep function between turning the port on and off, because I want the program to be able to send other outputs in this time.

Thank you

USB-6510 Continuous Monitoring Ports

To whom it may concern,

With the USB-6510, is it possible to be continuously monitoring all ports, as inputs, and once a port changes have that recorded in someway? Basically I would like the device to have some sort of setup code that puts the device into a state to monitor all inputs. Is this possible

Thanks for any and all help!

How to NI 9425 Interface and Software Verification and validation Tool or curriculum

As shown in the circuit on the right, when Compact RIO A and B are configured as a double deck that always operates independently, and the 24 volt photocoupler output from Ext-1 is interfaced to the NI9425 input port to operate, I want to know if it should be connected through a diode like pair1.

Or I would like to know if it is possible to connect like pair2,3 without a diode.

It is difficult to judge because the NI9425 internal circuitry is unknown.

I want to know if there are any tools or training courses on Software Verification and validation at NI.

PCI 6503 Low Voltage

Hello NI Community,

I am working with a PCI 6503 which seems to have a max voltage output of 3v instead of +5v.

The card is connected via a 50 pin ribbon to a CB-50 LP block which I have wired to a hall effect sensor that requires at least 4.5v to operate. I cannot get the sensor to work or others like it in NIMAX even though the PCI in present. The voltage reading off the connector block, ribbon, and PCI 6503 all read 3v. I have also confirmed the PCI slot on the computer is capable of +5v output and in all other ports it appears to generate this output. The card is new and I'm not sure how to move forward. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The parallel acquisition problem of two acquisition cards(CRIO)

Hello everyone, I have a problem in data collection. I want to collect the data of NI9232 and NI9237 in PARALLEL in FPGA and read it in RT terminal. During the test, there was no problem for each acquisition card to collect separately, but when I combined the program into a FPGA, the sampling rate with one acquisition card at the RT end could not be changed (increasing or decreasing the value of the sampling rate button, the program sampling rate remained unchanged). I tried to run only one acquisition card FPGA program on THE RT side, and it can run normally. I have attached my collection program (the program is based on LABVIEW routine, the interface may be a little ugly, because I have tested it for many times and I am in a bad mood, please do not mind), I hope you can give me valuable advice, thank you!

Reading IMU data with python

I haven't been able to track this down, but is it possible to pull i2c data from an IMU with python?

I am not particularly concerned with high performance -- getting the data a few times per second is fine.   Actually, it doesn't really need to be i2c -- i just want to read roll and pitch data a few times a second, so if there is a way to go about this, I would certainly appreciate knowing about it.

PXI-6527 and SCB-100A Terminal Block

Hi all,

I'm building a setup to test the hardware in PXI-6527 DIO cards and would like to get some feedback from whoever that might have worked with SCB-100A terminal block and DIO card PXI-6527 which is obsolete.

The user guide calls out all the DIO cards including PXI-6528 (which is the equivalent of PXI-6527) which the terminal block connects with but nothing on PXI-6527.

Any input will be appreciated.

TIA

NI-9472 to trigger a relay with 5V Output signal

Hi everyone,

I am trying to trigger an electromechanical relay with 5V Coil Voltage using Digital Output from NI-9472. The idea is to generate a single 5V pulse from LabVIEW that would trigger the relay once.

Can it be done through this DAQ card without the need of external 5V Power source? The current required needs to be 106 mA and I guess the 9472 can generate outputs up to 0.5A.

Some feedback on this and my scheme would be appreciated.

NI 9403 Default State for Digital Output with No Task Defined

I am looking to use the NI9403 Digital I/O module in the schematic shown below. The CS ON/OFF net will be connected to one of the DIO module's pins. When the NI 9403 is powered on and there is no output task defined what would it's default state be?

I'm looking for a din mount device which has some buttons, LEDs, 0-10v output, 4-20ma output etc, all in a neat package so I can easily test plc inputs and outputs.

I did make something myself a while ago but it was a bit of a hack job and wondered if there was anything on the market.

Single cycle of Analog output

Hi all,

I want to generate a single cycle (as shown in the waveform graph) of analog output using PCI-6711 and then stop/pause the program.  I added a condition in the while loop that when i equal the waveform length, the program will break the while loop.  However, it doesn't work.  Reading by an oscilloscope, I always find that the analog output contains more pulses than what I define (or what shows on the waveform graph).  Does anyone have any suggestions that I should try?

Thank you!

USB-6008 with Python on Mac

I have a USB – 6008 which I used to use with my Mac about 15 years ago., Programming in C. I pulled it out of a box of old parts and now I would like to use it with a Mac in Python. The documentation I have read so far looks unpromising: it seems that Mac is not supported. But are there any loopholes that I might not be aware of? Is there any API (C or Python) that would allow me to run this thing from a Mac?

I have a pci-6071e DAQ card installed in my system i did the self test passes but then i go test panels - digital I/0 and has an error showing "DEV1" digital lines 0,1,2 &4 are in use by the connected SCXI subsystem

how can i verify this DAQ card is fully functional?

Terminology - channels and lines

$

Hi all,

Does anyone know the correct way of using the words "channel" and "line", or are they synonymous? I would for example say that "a physical line in an I/O device is represented by a virtual channel in NI-MAX". But I would at the same time say that "an I/O device has 16 analog input channels". How to define a boundary between these words in a scientific paper without confusing the reader?
